entry table styling

The entry table is your home’s first greeting. Styling it thoughtfully combines practicality with beauty. It’s more than decor – it’s a statement, reflecting your style and organizing essentials. A well-styled entry table creates a positive first impression, setting the stage for the entire home. It’s a small space with a big impact, enhancing functionality while adding a touch of elegance to your living space.

Here are my tips for creating a seamless look in your entry:

  1. Consider the table you need: Typically there are three styles of tables you can use in your entry. Chest of Drawers or Cabinet – perfect for small and narrow spaces but can provide additional storage. Credenza or Sideboard – great for those larger entry ways and provides you with maximum storage. Console Table – provides little to no storage but can make your small entryway feel more open.
  2. Start with a base: Usually a mirror or a larger piece of art, this should be centered above the table and will provide you a central focal point when decorating the rest of the table. If you have a smaller entryway, I highly recommend opting for a mirror to create the illusion of a larger space.
  3. Make it functional: Entry tables are specifically designed to fulfill practical needs while also making a statement. For a great first impression – place a tray on your tabletop for your guests to be able to store keys or loose items.
  4. Give it a personal touch: Just as in all home decor, ensuring to personalize when decorating is key. Incorporate items such as picture frames, vases, or other decor items you have collected throughout your travels. Remember to balance the arrangement utilizing various textures and shapes that will create visual interest.

Overall no matter what items you select to decorate your entry table, keep this in mind for a simple process: Less is more, bigger is better, vary heights & texture, and group items into threes.
